Soooo excited to share with you my new Kundalini Yoga membership. Many of you wanted to do the yoga classes at a time that fit your day, so here it is!!! I have created packs of classes from my live zoom classes so that you can practice them everyday at any time from anywhere. There are two choices: Kundalini Yoga Club (with three classes) and Kundalini Yoga Club Premium (with six classes). And this month, both include a bonus extra mediation and a live class with me on July 15th.
The good thing about this “staying home” is that so many of you have enjoyed saving the time commuting to and from class. What I love about it is that it makes it do-able for everyone’s schedule. Again, it is a tool to help you have clarity, focus, energy and mental health and well being. For me it is a jumping off point to train your brain, to quiet your negative loops of thinking so you can hear your pearls of wisdom. No one wants to be run by the thought loops that aren’t serving them. You know the: "I can’t, ugh I have tried everything, but how?, I am too old, too young, too dumb, not connected" and on and on". Breathing, moving and connecting to your body gives you an awareness that will guarantee a mindset shift. And, as I like to point out on social media, a minute of conscious breath can change everything. Please let me know if you have questions or feedback I would love to hear it. See you in class. Let’s take the next 6 months of 2020 and be specific with what you want to change. What is working? What isn’t working? Are you ready to shift it? To create an intentional way of being that moves you forward toward creating something that excites you? Be a change maker for yourself and then for the world.

How ya doing? How ya doing ? How ya doing?
What I am seeing with my clients is movement! They are seeing what their blocks are and are sick of doing things the same old way. They are ready to do it differently and boom they are making changes. These are lessons. Lessons to grow and now is the best time ever to see your lessons, take them head on and grow!!! Seriously now is the time, when things are upside down with the pandemic and racism is being uncovered in our system. Learning and growing and taking on your blocks doesn’t decrease the importance of those things. Not at all. You can incorporate those things as part of your growing. Do things differently. Don’t let those things stop you from doing you. From your path, your dreams, your life. You can help people and be a change maker, even more successfully when you are doing what you are meant to be doing, fully!!! Let’s get that energy up. Move, breath, take action and grow through this so from now on your life is going to look different, better, exciting, inspiring. Your blocks won’t be your blocks anymore. If you are feeling low energy, discouraged, sad, because of the current events and politics and that has stopped you in your tracks. Please call me or email to set up a free ½ hour discovery session to “see” if coaching can help you move through this so you can feel joy, hope, excitement and possibility. Being set in our patterns at a time like this, when globally there is so much uncertainty can make us buy into the doom and gloom but what good is that? We need you. We need your voice and what you have to offer. Let’s rewrite the pattern and get you dusted off and jumping up and down so you can be the light you were meant to be!!! If you or someone you know needs this please share this and let’s start feeling better, shifting the energy and making a change. Now! Changing ourselves will change the world. What does it mean to be comfortable with the uncomfortable?
To be ok, really ok with what is going on around us. The Chaos, change, transition, transformation and so forth that is happening out there is a mirror of change, chaos, transition and transformation within us. Are we ok with not knowing, YET, what the “new” will look like? Are we ok being in the process? The discovery? The path, the journey and the trip we have to take to the next level of existence? If we are stressing, focusing on the negative, the doom, it shouldn’t be happening (i.e. the judgement of what is), then we are not ok. Being not ok here will result in more not ok-ness. To stay healthy and well during times like this we must do whatever it takes to get to the comfort. It is physical comfort and mental comfort. The dictionary defines comfort as: “a state of physical ease and freedom from pain or constraint, things that contribute to physical ease and well being, the easing or alleviation of a person’s feeling of grief or distress.” How do we bring in EASE when we are in distress? The tool box! This is where it is our job as human beings to fill this tool box with healthy, sustainable and creative ways to bring about ease and comfort when we are in distress. Why do I say sustainable ways? Eating a pint of ice cream, drinking, etc. are not sustainable. They create a false sense of ease. They create a covering over the discomfort and then when the cover is lifted there is an even greater sense of discomfort (guilt, shame, etc). So what are ways to foster comfort when we are in uncomfortable times?
When you have created that feeling of ease, that all is well, then you can ask yourself, “what good can come from this?” Answers will come to you. This will be the new way of being for yourself and for the community at large. The more of us that can do this the more answers will appear, the quicker we will “get it” and be able to tip the point of transition. This little video, My Ode to Summer Solstice, is a tribute to my teacher, Guru Singh. He has led thousands of us up and around and over and down the mountain at 3am to this most beautiful wake up song for more than 4 decades.
My first trip up the mountain was in the 90’s. It was a challenge and a growth spurt. Memories that will last a lifetime. I was alone in my tiny tent, I wrote a book during the silence, I breathed, I cried, I sweated, it rained and hailed and was over 100 degrees. Over the years highlights have been Tantric burgers and popcorn with yummy Flavors, lemon ginger aid and yogi tea, working in the kitchen, the moon, the smell, singing and dancing with Guru Ganesha Singh, the sounds, the air, the wind, the rain, the heat, setting up the the tent, finding a lost jake at the watermelon table, hearing of the death of our beloved runty (bunny) only to turn around and boom there was Guru Singh for the hug, helping in kids camp, doing a day of tantric with sadie and at the end of it, “mom can I do it with you again tomorrow?!!!!!!” I chanted, bonded and mostly grew. So from isolation I honor the mountain, the event, the wondrous summer solstice. And thank you Guru Singh for this most amazing wake up song and event that is alive in me everyday…..rise up dear family...rise up. Now it takes on the deeper meaning of rising up, awakening to this age of transformation. This is the time for all of us to go within, to grow, to listen and change as this global shift is happening to create the new way. The time is now, the tipping point is here. Please join this global meditation (with millions) at www.sionearth.com with Michael Beckwith and others leading for an hour long, #onetribe, raise your vibration meditation. It will be on the solstice june 21, 4pm pst. This is a marathon folks. But I feel that the time is now for real shifts to happen. Shifts in so many ways need to happen. We are being pushed against the wall by mother nature, education, health care, racism. Our old ways of being and doing aren't sustainable. We didn’t listen to the whispers or loud voices so now we are here. Waking up, awakening. From my perspective as a white person, it is a real time to listen, to see behind the veil of what we thought was changing, to what is the harsh reality. We are all different ages and stages but seeing even in our lifetime Rodney King, 911, George Floyd (and many more) just proves the need to do things differently.
In coaching I am always working with clients to Look, See, Tell the truth and then take Authentic action. The time we are in can be a perfect example of this. We have all been Looking without really Seeing. Now we are Seeing. It is so different to really SEE. If you need help Seeing I would direct you to watch or read Jane Elliott (she is absolutely brilliant at breaking this down so you can “see” it). Also recommended are “How to be an Anti-Racist” by Ibram X. Kendi (audible or book) and or the podcast that Brene Brown did with him to get you started. The movie, “Just Mercy” based on the book by the same name is free this whole month from Warner Brothers on every platform or read the book by Bryan Stevenson (and Oprah has an amazing interview with him, it is on my Facebook page). These are just a few ways to SEE. What I love about Anti-Racism is that Ibram is showing us that being a non-racist isn’t really a thing. This isn’t about guilt and shame for us, as white people, but an acknowledgement of where we are, a deep listening, a hearing, a seeing, a true uncovering and admitting that there are systemic racist policies that are at the heart of this country that we need to get behind to shift, for all of us, for everyone to be able to eventually move forward. So similar to the stages of grief there are stages to change (shock, numbness, denial, fear, anger, depression, understanding, acceptance, moving on). This is a long process but don’t get stuck in a stage. Keep walking through, keep learning and growing and practicing self care to keep you strong and healthy so that you can withstand this time of change. The time is now to shift this. Let this be our legacy, that we gave a helping hand in shifting the United States in 2020 to a New way of being. So when we look back on this time in 10/20 years we will be so grateful that we took the time to really See and tell the truth which then led to moving authentically forward into a new way of being an American. We can do this. We are up to this. We need each other and we are in this together. Well, here we are. Entering into June. Every day is a new situation, a new unknown, an unpredicted, unchartered event, a pile of information or just a shocking piece of news. No matter what it is, it is out of our control and that can leave us reeling. How can we manage this? How can we stay strong and healthy and “OK” in the midst of all that is happening?
Here are 5 ways to help navigate your way through these times.
When you get to a certain age you can look back and see the journey . . . some of it makes sense. Some of the pain and lessons have enough distance to show the path that they put us on. Some lessons are still revealing themselves as we move through it, forward.
We know intellectually that we aren’t guaranteed any specific amount of time for this journey. For this human experience. When something hits, like this global situation, it shines a light on that. People of any age, stage, pre-existing conditions, or none . . . can come abruptly to the end of their journey. So when we see that up-close and personal it can open another door to our awareness. Awareness of what we are doing and who we are being. Who are you willing to be going forward? Are you willing to take action despite the monkey mind that may show up? It might be comparison or excuses, self doubt or judgements, either-or thinking. It will be your Achilles heel. It is different for each one of us. Usually when it shows up strongly it actually means you are on to something, peeling another layer of your onion and it is the willingness to continue on in spite of this inner commentary that will enable you to continue on your hero’s journey. Can you do it? Yes! You can. Take it easy, take care of yourself, be patient, loving, kind, gentle to yourself AND keep going. We need you to do what only you can do. Please do it!!! Who are you willing to be going forward? How are you? Really, how are you?
So much information, misinformation, people complying, people rebelling, protesting, theories, opinions, guesses, ahhhhhhhhh WTF! Has your brain had it with this moment? I think everyone on the planet has had it. The key to our sanity is how long do you dwell there? Really. This is such a trap for sucking our energy, our life force. The life force that keeps us physically healthy, mentally healthy and leading from love and kindness. My wish for everyone is that they are taking time to walk quietly, drink tea, plant plants, keep some space that was gained, that was rediscovered while we had to be at home. To keep some of that as we move forward. This is the Aquarian age. The lights have been turned on, things are being exposed, great shifts will occur and need to occur. I hope you gained some personal clarity during this time. That you see what is important and what isn’t, that taking care of yourself demands a new level of commitment. If you are feeling rattled or anxious and worried. Please reach out. I am here. This is what I do. And our Coaching Circle will do that together, in a small, intimate group. It is a beautiful way to come together for support, guidance, growth and ease as we slowly emerge from this time of isolation into our new way of being. Make this time count. Make it matter to you and your family. Thrive don’t just survive this time of transformation….breathe…..all is well. Happy Tuesday. Yes it is! Especially in times like these when it's easy to spiral and let Monkey Mind take over. Coaching, yoga, and meditation are the tools that stop that spiral and shift your thoughts from what isn’t serving you to what is. Like going to the gym for your brain.
Why is this important? Because everything starts in your brain. We think something and that causes a chain reaction. Sometimes that is a good thing and sometimes it isn’t. It is too important to leave it to happenstance. We have to create the ability to shift what we are thinking so that the chain reaction is energizing, motivating, healthy, intuitive and growth inducing. Does this mean that you will never feel sadness, frustration, discouragement, fear, worry, doubt, pain etc.? No. We are human and we will feel those feelings. We will be in situations that bring about all sorts of mental and emotional turbulence. However, it is the ability to move through it, being present to it, and allow, and observe so that we don’t get stuck there. That is where the tools of coaching and meditation come in to play. To work on your mind everyday. It doesn’t have to be long but it needs to be consistent. So that when something powerful comes into your space you are ready to face it, see it, allow it to move through you. Then you can emerge on the other side of it stronger, more powerfully YOU and having grown. That is why I am doing my Coaching Circle. To support, encourage and instill this everyday practice into your life so that during these times and ALL times you can stay in the center of yourself and not be thrown over the edge of the boat. If you have questions please reach out. I will also be on Facebook live Wednesday, 5/13/20, at 4:00 pm (PT) to discuss it. There has never been a better time to master your ability to shift your own thoughts than now! Six weeks. $44.00 a week to turn the practice into a habit that can change the way you feel, what you are doing and how you are being. Let’s get coaching!! Course begins May 20th. As some towns and countries begin to ease restrictions while others are in complete chaos, infighting about rights, masks and distancing what is needed now more than ever is the ability to see and then unsee. In yoga we talk about this a lot. Seeing, not sticking your head in the sand, yet then "unseeing" and allowing yourself to continue on your path without the drag of this observation. What am I talking about? Well, if we are to continue on with our pursuits without the drag of extreme worry and fear we must be able to do this so we are not caught in the pervasive energy of this circumstantial situation. I can feel this energy so strongly and I have to up my practice. Being consistent, continuous and committed to my higher good is what I know to be crucial in these times. It is the only way forward. Otherwise we will be caught in this chaos and pulled over so to speak into a cul-de-sac, stalled out. If you want support with this, I am all in and super excited to announce that we are opening up our new Coaching Circle! This unique, six-week course will combine coaching through these times, keeping you on your path, kundalini yoga and meditation for the mind, body and spirit. It will be uplifting, energizing, fun and supportive. We can survive and thrive during this time. We can invent and reinvent and reboot what it is we are doing and how we are living. Let us go forward with ease and grace consciously moving with intention and faith. We can do this. Let's GO.
